Hanne Udding heard about Frame & Hive cleaner PRO on Facebook and was ready to try a new method for cleaning her beekeeping equipment.

 

First Impressions and Usage

Hanne describes the cleaning process as simple. She mixed 45 liters of water with the product in a large plastic tub, where she placed 20 HLS frames. After the frames had soaked for 6–12 hours, she scrubbed them with a dish brush, rinsed them in water with white vinegar, and let them dry in the sun. Her first impression of the product, from packaging to application, was that it was easy to work with.

The frames came out clean and were easy to brush off. Hanne says that all the dirt disappeared, so she couldn't say the product was more effective against any specific type of grime. Although the cleaning process requires the frames to soak for several hours, she sees it as an advantage that she can do other tasks during that time.

She has also tried caustic soda, which she found 'scarier' due to the heat. The biggest advantage she sees with Frame & Hive cleaner PRO is that she no longer has to wait until October to clean the frames but can do it early in the spring. Regarding safety, she trusts that the product has been tested to be safe for both her and the bees.

Hanne recommends Frame & Hive cleaner PRO to other beekeepers because it is simple and provides clean results. Her best advice for other beekeepers is to save empty containers, such as large bottles or feed buckets, to easily pour the liquid back in and take it to a recycling station.
